Rates

I charge a flat rate for shooting time:

  • Half-day rate: 4 hours on set

  • Full-day rate: 8 hours on set

In addition, I charge a per-image editing fee. This structure allows me to capture as many images as needed during the shoot, while giving clients the flexibility to review proofs afterward and select only the images they'd like edited for use.

Rates vary based on the type of shoot and how the images will be used.

Please note:

  • I do not provide unedited images aside from watermarked proofs (used for image review and selection)

  • Additional fees may apply for travel, assistant support, equipment rental, rush editing, or weekend shoots.

If you are Black, Indigenous, a person of color, or feel you are an underrepresented person in your field, and don't have a budget that aligns with my rates, please let me know and I'm happy to work with you on a quote that could fit your needs.

Portfolio Shoot

Full Day Portfolio Shoot - $1200

Up to 8 hours of time on set, including a 30 minute lunch break. I can typically capture 10 - 25 images.

Half Day Portfolio Shoot* - $700

Up to 4 hours of time on set, I can typically capture 5 - 10 images. Anything beyond 4 hours automatically becomes a full day portfolio shoot.

*Half day shoots are only offered for locations located within a 20 mile radius of Sara’s location in Pasadena

Per Image Editing Fee - $60

Following the shoot, clients receive a gallery with watermarked proofs of the images captured. From there, they are able to select the images they’d like to have edited and returned to them as high resolution images for use. I do not release unedited images.

Photo Usage

Images from a portfolio shoot may be used by a single client for:

  • Portfolio

  • Website

  • Social Media

  • Contest submission

  • Editorial pitching

  • Digital editorial

Images from a portfolio shoot can not used for:

  • Sharing with brands for sponsored content

  • Digital advertising

  • Print advertising

  • Print editorial

Editorial usage fees for print publication will often be covered by the editorial outlet. However, if the editorial outlet does not have a budget for usage fees, and you would still like the images to be used in the editorial, you are responsible for covering the editorial usage fees. These will be dependent on scope of use. Please inquire if needed.

Usage rights for additional parties (such as an architect or contractor), editorial use, or advertising use by third parties are available for additional fees. Please inquire if needed.

Correct crediting must always apply, except in the case of advertising use.

Sponsored Content

& Commercial Shoots

Sponsored content or projects that have intended advertising use of photos are shot and edited at a higher rate. These photos also come with shared usage rights between the primary client and one additional sponsored client, as well as advertising, whitelisting, and/or editorial usage by both the primary client and the additional sponsor client. Usage by additional sponsors will require additional fees.

Turnaround & Post Production

Photo turn around is typically 6 weeks from the date you send me your editing selections. Rush editing is available if needed, for an additional fee.

I happily extend one round of edits after a client receives their images. Any notes must be submitted within 2 weeks of receiving images. Turn around of notes can take up to an additional week. Photos are delivered in high-res JPEG format, unless otherwise requested.

You images will be delivered via a Pixieset gallery for review. Once all images are approved, and your final invoice has been paid, you images will be available for download in the Pixieset gallery.

Travel Fees

There is no mileage fee for the first 20 miles of travel from my home in Pasadena to the shoot location. After 20 miles, I charge a $.70/mile fee for any remaining miles.

There is no travel fee for the first 30 minutes of each drive to and from set. After 30 minutes, I begin charging an hourly rate of $75 for any additional drive time.

I am happy to give you a travel fee quote prior to the shoot date should you request one.

I do not offer half day options for projects outside of Los Angeles County.

If a project is located outside Los Angeles County, I charge a travel fee of $.70/mile (or the current IRS standard) from my home to the project location. 

If a location requires travel longer than a 2 hour drive, I charge an hourly travel fee of $125/hour to cover my travel time in addition to a $.70/mile fee.

If a location requires travel outside Southern California, I charge a half day travel fee of $500, a $.70/mile fee if driving, and require accommodations, and flights (if needed) be provided.

If a shoot requires multiple days outside of Los Angeles County, I require accommodations be provided.

I charge an additional $30 for each change of location, if shooting at multiple locations in one day. This is in addition to any mileage between locations.

Deposits & Payments

In order to hold a shoot date with me a 50%, non-refundable deposit is required. At the time of booking, a first invoice will be sent with the deposit amount. The second invoice will include the remainder of the shoot fee, editing fees and any additional fees, and will be sent once photos have been edited and are ready. This second invoice must be paid prior to receiving your edited images.

Rescheduling and Cancellation Policies

The non-refundable deposit serves as a cancellation fee in the event you need to cancel the shoot.

If a shoot needs to be rescheduled the deposit can be credited towards a future shoot. Please let me know as soon as possible if you believe you may need to reschedule your shoot.

In the event I am no longer able to shoot on our agreed date, I will reach out in attempts to reschedule. If we are not able to find an agreeable date to reschedule, your shoot deposit will be returned to you in the form of a mailed check within two weeks of the cancellation.

Additional Details

Weekend Shooting Fee

I charge an additional 30% shooting fee for any shoots booked for Saturday or Sundays.

Lighting

I shoot with 100% natural light, and bring no lighting equipment.

Styling

I do not provide any on set styling, or styling assistance. While I may move items in the frame of the shot to better position them in the composition of a shot, each space should be styled and set prior to my arrival. If you are interested in stylist recommendations I'm happy to provide you with some.

If you’re a new client, or have any questions, please submit a form with the following:

  • The type of project (residential home, condo/apt, commercial space, etc.)

  • Size and number of spaces (Ex. It's a two story home, and we'd like to shoot the kitchen, dining room, primary bedroom, powder bath, etc.)

  • Include any scouting shots of the spaces you have (iPhone photos are totally fine)

  • Please let me know if you had a date in mind, a range of dates, or if you need the edited photos by a certain date.
