Design by Rebecca Zajak

Thanks so much for your interest in working with me. Below are my current rates and details. Please read them over and reach out if you have any additional questions or are ready to book a shoot.

Rates & Fees
I charge a flat rate for my shooting time (either a half day of shooting or a full day of shooting), and a "per image" editing fee. Additional fees may include travel fees, assistant fees, equipment rental, rush editing fees, or a weekend shooting fee. If you are Black, Indigenous, a person of color, or feel you are an underrepresented person in your field, and don't have a budget that aligns with my rates, please let me know and I'm happy to work with you on a quote that could fit your needs.

Full Day Portfolio Shoot - $1200

Up to 8 hours of time on set, including a 30 minute lunch break. I can typically capture 10 - 25 images. These photos can be used for personal portfolio, website, and social media only. Please see the photo usage section for more information about editorial use or additional photo usage.

Half Day Portfolio Shoot (Offered only for locations located within a 20 mile radius from my home in Pasadena) - $700

Up to 4 hours of time on set, I can typically capture 5 - 10 images. Anything beyond 4 hours automatically becomes a full day portfolio shoot.

Multiple Locations In The Same Day

I charge an additional $30 for each change of location, if shooting at multiple locations in one day. This is in addition to any mileage between locations (please see "Travel Fees" below).

Editing Fee - $60/image

In the days following our shoot, I will send you a Dropbox folder with all of the photos taken. From those images you are able to make a final list of which images you would like edited. I will only edit the photos you choose to have edited. I charge a flat fee per edited image that I deliver to you, which covers my time editing. I do not turn over unedited images, PSD files, or raw images to any client.

Sponsored & Commercial Shoots - $1500 1/2 Day or $2500 Full Day & $200/image

Sponsored content or projects that have intended advertising use of photos are shot and edited at a higher rate. These photos also come with shared usage rights between the primary client and one additional sponsor client, as well as advertising/whitelisting/editorial usage by both the primary client and additional sponsor client. Usage by additional sponsors will require additional fees.

Lighting I shoot with 100% natural light, and bring no lighting equipment.

Styling

I do not provide any on set styling, or styling assistance. While I may move items in the frame of the shot to better position them in the composition of a shot, each space should be styled and set prior to my arrival. If you are interested in stylist recommendations I'm happy to provide you with some.

Travel Fees
If a project is located outside a 20 mile radius from my home (in Pasadena), I charge a travel fee of $.67/mile (or the current IRS standard) from my home to the location. I do not offer half day options for projects outside of this 20 mile radius. If a location requires travel outside of Los Angeles County, I charge an hourly travel fee of $125/hour to cover my travel time in addition to a $.63/mile fee. If a location requires travel outside Southern California, I charge a half day travel fee of $500, a $.63/mile fee, and require accommodations (and flights if needed) be provided. If a shoot requires multiple days outside of Los Angeles, I require accommodations be provided.

Weekend Shooting Fee I charge an additional 30% shooting fee for any shoots booked for Saturday or Sundays.

Deposits & Payments
In order to hold a shoot date with me, I require a 50% deposit of the shoot day fee. The second invoice will include the remainder of the shoot fee, editing fees, and any additional fees, and will be sent once photos have been edited and are ready to be handed over, and must be paid prior to receiving your edited images.

Rescheduling and Cancellation Policies

A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to book a shoot. This deposit serves as a cancellation fee in the event you need to cancel the shoot.

If a shoot needs to be rescheduled the deposit can be credited towards a future shoot. Please let me know as soon as possible if you believe you may need to reschedule your shoot.

In the event I am no longer able to shoot on our agreed date, I will reach out in attempts to reschedule. If we are not able to find an agreeable date to reschedule, your shoot deposit will be returned to you in the form of a mailed check within two weeks of the cancellation.

Turnaround & Post Production

Photo turn around is typically 6 weeks from the date you send me your editing selections, but can sometimes take as long as 8 weeks. Rush editing is available if needed, for an additional fee.

I happily extend one round of edits after a client receives their images. Any notes must be submitted within 2 weeks of receiving images. Turn around of notes can take up to an additional week. Photos are delivered in high-res JPEG format, unless otherwise requested.

Photo Usage
A portfolio shoots grants perpetual usage rights of the fully edited photos to you (a single client or company). Photos from a portfolio shoot can be used for personal/company portfolio, personal/company website, and personal/company social media only.

Usage rights for additional parties (such as an architect or contractor), editorial use, or advertising use by third parties are available for additional fees. Please inquire if needed.

Editorial fees will often be covered by the editorial outlet. However, if the editorial outlet does not have a budget then you are responsible for covering the editorial usage fee.

Correct crediting must always apply, except in the case of advertising use.

The Typical Process
Here's an example of what you can expect if you'd like to move forward with booking a shoot.

  • Once we agree on a date, I will send you an invoice for the deposit via Quickbooks and a photo contract to sign. Your date will be held 24 hours from the time the deposit invoice is sent.

  • On the morning of the shoot I will arrive at the specified time and location, and bring in all my equipment. I travel with a rolling camera bag, a tripod bag, and my laptop stand.

  • The first thing I like to do when I arrive is walk through all the spaces being shot with you (the client). We can discuss any thoughts or concerns you have about the spaces, figure out when the lighting will be best in each spot, and put together a rough shot list. I usually do this on my phone.

  • Then I'll set up all my equipment and we can get started shooting. Each shot usually takes between 15 and 45 minutes to capture. This includes composing the shot, styling to the camera (I shoot tethered so you or your stylist will be able to see exactly what the photo is looking like on my computer in real time), and capturing multiple exposures (which I use in the editing process).

  • Shortly after the shoot, I will send you a dropbox folder with the best example of each shot we took that day. From those you are able to decide which images you'd like fully edited and which images you'd like to skip.

  • Once I have that list from you, I will edit your photos.

  • When all your photos have been edited, I will send through the final invoice. Once the invoice is paid, I will send you a dropbox link containing all of the fully edited, HiRes JPEGs.

  • You are free to review them, and have one week to let me know if you have any notes or revisions.

If you're interested in moving forward with booking a shoot, please submit a form or email with the following:

  • The type of project (residential home, condo/apt, commercial space, etc.)

  • Size and number of spaces (Ex. It's a two story home, and we'd like to shoot the kitchen, dining room, primary bedroom, powder bath, etc.)

  • Include any scouting shots of the spaces you have (iPhone photos are totally fine)

  • Please let me know if you had a date in mind, a range of dates, or if you need the edited photos by a certain date.
